And another Book

Two books in one year is a bit much for me, but this one is a *very very good* one because it spells out that which I know is true, it gives me a nice warm fuzzy feeling. I take it to bed and read a few pages, feel good and go to sleep.

From the pommy "Bicycling Magazine" and edited by Ben Hewitt it is described as 100 all-time TOP TIPS for cyclists Interestingly enough, it has two ISBNs, a 10 and 13 digit one. Obviously 10 digits weren't enough and one can only wonder how long 13 digits will last. (They need the equivalent of IPv6 for books)

ISBN-10 1-4050-8896-0
ISBN-13 978-1-4050-8896-0
(A difference of 978 pehaps)

I made a barcode of the 10 digit one with Kbarcode and Lo!, it added the 978 found in the 13 digit ISBN code. very interesting.

Actually there is only 627 tips according to the index, which breaks the index up into categories,
Safety
Bike Care
Health and Fitness
Nutrition
to name just four of them

The book was published by Rodale Books and the edition I have looks like it was printed 2005.

Thanks to my daughter for thinking of me on father's day.

Bundanoon - Again

This was my fourth trip to Bundanoon, two have been Christmas in July affairs, the last two just a weekend away at the Bundanoon YHA (NSW - Southern Highlands)

Weather was great. Day one was a 70 odd Km trip around to Burrawang for morning tea and then onto Fitroy Falls for lunch. Then back to Bundanoon and we had a rather splendid dinner at the Bundy Pub. All in all a good day.

Guess they don't use these any more!

Sunday was a ride north to the Hume Hwy and along that for 1.8Km, wow, was that a busy road, and into the Penrose state forest for a ride on dirt to Penrose then back to Bundy, about 40 Km.

Bundanoon has a "market" on the first sunday, but if you turned up from outer space and lobbed into the market, you could never tell it was Bundanoon, just like every other market, by and large just a series of commercial outlets.
