I decided to fix the tear in the tyre from the punture described the other day. It was 1 cm long so I covered it with a piece of old tube 25 mm x 15 mm.

It just didn't hold, I did 60 or so Km, and my tyre was flat this morning. Just split along the tyre moulding line.

Cleaning out years of newspaper cuttings, I came across this death notice.

It would have been from the late 70s I guess, he was a member of the 2/2nd Pioneers

 

Todays Adventure

Wet day and on our glass splattered bicycle paths, picked this up. Think the tube is not repairable as the hole size is pretty big. Patched the inside of the tyre, it has only a 1000km on it and can't really afford to replace it.

Also thought I had a spare 700cc tube, but turned out to be a 26" tube, oh well, they stretch.

GVBR -2008

Place holder for some thoughts

GVBR

The GVBR was a 590 Km loop from Ballarat to Ballarat via Rokewook,Cobden,Mortlake,Dunkels,Halls Gap, Lake Bolac, and Beaufort. 29 Nov 2008 to 7 Dec 2008, though we stayed a night at Ballarat before it started.
