An Interesting Ride

Did a 5 Hr 30 min and 80 Km trip (bit slow :-) ). You can read the details here. A pleasant social ride with five people, two punctutes and one crash, fortunately no damage to anything but the rider's ego.

The 12th of August

My daughter (No 3) has started another 'chain letter'. So here is my contribution.
I am really impressed that Cleopatra died this day 2000 odd years ago and even more impressed that King George IV was also born on this date.

But most impressive, is that I have a grand-daughter Natasha born this day 1998. Read on dear reader

Disaster

Making muesli bars is not one of my strengths! This burnt mass of "gunk" was my attempt to make home made muesli bars.
 

 

 

 

 

Here is the recipe anyway.

INGREDIENTS
125g butter
100g plain flour
50g brown sugar
100g rice bubbles
100g rolled oats
100g sultanas
100g finely chopped dried apricots
100g chocolate biscuits
50g peanut butter
50g honey

Method
You need a greased tray about 20x25 cm, (or grease proof paper although my paper stuck to the bottom of this experiment)
Preheat the oven to 150 C
Combine the butter, peanut butter, sugar and the honey in a saucepan and heat and stir till all is disolved
Put all the other ingredients into a bowl, mix up and then add the melted butter mixture and stir well
Place the mixture into the tin and bake for 20 minutes (or maybe longer)

Cut into pieces when cool

What a disaster, it all got burnt, so the temperature should have been about 120C.
