Getting on

It's a bit of shock to see people some times. Had a visit to the coast to say hello to friend from the past. He and his partner have been together for 15 years now but hadn't seen them for 5 years. She's still the same, but he had put a lot more age, sort of thing that sends you to the mirror to see if the same is happening to yourself :-)

Then the next weekend visited Coffs Harbour for a funeral of a class mate. Met him 47 years ago and it was kinda sad to say goodbye. Died of bowel cancer. Of the cohort, one died when a chopper lost it, all the others have had a cancer of some description, makes you think of what we did that might have triggered it, or whether it is par for the course in the general population.

Funerals tend to gather like souls, people you haven't seen for years. Somewhat morbidly you can't help but wonder who the master is gonna call up next. The immortality of youth has long left me.
