Last year I did the
Gong and the first weekend of February, returned for a bit more of a ride around what was once a great industrial town based on steel, but these days, it has diversified and is just a regular city with traffic jams, a university and all the trappings of a big city including a
YHA where we stayed for two nights. First class.
It does have some fantastic paths for walking. Our Sunday ride was on a beautiful warm day along the beaches to the
Seacliff bridge and back. There were "thousands" out walking. Tremendous!
Coming up to the Pt Kembla Steel MillThe above shot is one that doesn't do justice to the scenery on the rest of the ride, but reflects my perceptions of Woolongong.
