Runway 35

Canberra's airport has been undergoing a fair bit of development, including a 600 metre extension to the southern end of runway 35 (or 17 if you are coming in from the other end)

For reasons best known to the developers, the extension was opened for bicycle riders, skateboarders or any other man powered form of transportation. My guess there were 2000 people there at 9:30am.

Anyway I rode up and down it and do declare it suitable for 737s!

 

Here I am waiting for clearance on Rwy 35. (No piano keys yet) .
